FAQs

This page is for buyers with a quick question, and each answer points to the page that holds the full rule.

Sizing questions come first

Who made the size chart on a listing?

The maker did.

Its figures are garment measurements taken flat, in inches and centimeters, with 0.5 to 1 inch (1 to 2.5 cm) of tolerance either way. The Size Guide explains how to hold a chart up against a dress already in the closet.

What if a listing shows no chart?

Seven of the 45 dresses have none, because the maker published no chart that fits the dress.

Those listings say so openly, and they still give the length in words along with any notes from the maker.

What does the runs-small note mean?

It is a warning from the maker, printed on 18 styles.

The dress comes up smaller than its size letter, so going one or two sizes up often gives a better fit.

How far does the size range go?

From XS to 5XL.

S, M and L are available in 43 of the 45 designs and 2XL in 18. Two velvet dresses are cut for plus sizes, one running XL to 4XL and the other XL to 5XL.

Delivery questions come next

How long until a dress arrives?

Allow 15 to 18 business days from the order day.

Packing in China accounts for 2 to 3 of them and the carrier for 13 to 15, and anything paid after 5 PM ET counts from the following business day. Details are in the Shipping Policy.

At what amount does shipping become free?

At a dress subtotal of $129, counted after any discount.

Smaller orders pay $6.60, once per order. Since the priciest dress is $77.99, free shipping always takes at least two dresses.

Is anything owed to customs on delivery?

Nothing.

The sender pays the duties before the parcel enters the United States.

Can a dress go to Alaska, Hawaii or a PO box?

It cannot.

A street address in one of the 48 contiguous states, or in DC, is required.

How is a parcel followed on its way?

With the tracking number in the shipping email, or on the Order Tracking page.

The carrier’s site can stay empty for as long as 3 business days before the first scan.

Returns and refunds have their own rules

How many days does a buyer have to ask for a return?

30 days, starting on the day the carrier marks the parcel delivered.

Only the request has to arrive inside that window. The Refund and Returns Policy lists what happens after that.

Who covers the postage on a return?

It depends on the reason.

For a change of mind or a size that does not fit, the buyer does. For a dress that arrived damaged, faulty, wrong or different from its listing, ChantMantras does, and that dress usually stays with the buyer. Restocking is $0 either way.

Where is a returned dress sent?

To the address that the return approval email gives.

The support team sends that email within 1 business day of a complete request.

When is the refund completed?

Within 7 business days of the returned dress arriving and passing inspection.

Card issuers and PayPal then post the credit on their own schedule, which can add as many as 10 more business days.

Is it too late to cancel?

Not within the first 10 hours after the order is placed.

The full payment then comes back within 2 business days.

Payment questions close the list

What can an order be paid with?

Two ways: PayPal, or a Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover card.

Methods that are not accepted are listed in the Payment Policy.

When does payment happen?

Payment is taken in full when the order is placed.

Does an order include sales tax?

Sales tax is added at checkout, worked out from the delivery address, and the amount shows before anything is paid.

The company has a registered name
